The Best Robot Hoover

The best robot cleaner robot hoover can clean and mop without requiring your attention, and it will leave your floors clean. Its low cost and top-of-the-line features (such as a dirt detectors) are a plus.

Be sure to regularly inspect your robot's brushes for hair that is tangled and large debris and wash them if needed. Some models can also self-empty the dust bin on board and then deposit it in a larger bin located at the base. This can reduce the amount of fine dust that is released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 pro

The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've test. They have motors that are top of the class and can handle up to 5,500 Pascals. Like other premium iRobots (including the top model) they utilize smart mapping to create detailed floorplans that avoid obstacles like cords and furniture legs. The robots also come with the feature of Carpet Boost that increases its power when it senses dirt on the carpet.

Both the Q5 and the Q7 Max Series get very good scores in our bare floor tests and are particularly effective in removing pet hair. There are some issues however, which hinder them from being our first choice. One of the Q5's shortcomings is that its navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's thus susceptible to get stuck on shoes and socks and couldn't navigate rooms with lots of people well during our tests. It doesn't also have a camera that can see around corners.

Still, it's very good, especially if you want to save money on an iRobot Roomba and you have a mostly unfinished home or office. It's also very quiet and works when you're at work or at school. It lacks the edge-to-edge bare floor vacuuming that is available in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective in mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying cradle that can be emptied by itself. And, if you have to, you can switch the mopping pad for dry ones in a matter of just a few seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities into a sleek, compact package. Its agile navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it simple to clean and efficient in dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also has an impressive suction system and self-emptying bin. It's the best robot hoover for carpets, however it's not as good as other hoovers when it comes to deep cleaning.

This top-performing mop and vacuum combo utilizes advanced sensors to avoid obstacles and pet waste and it will learn the layout of your home over time to provide more efficient cleaning. The app allows you to customize zones and change the cleaning schedule. It has a battery life that is comparable to other models.

You can tell the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and extend them when in a carpeted room which prevents cross-contamination. Its flex arm can also be used to reach under furniture that is low and along baseboards. It doesn't perform as well on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

In tests during testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop that could complete an entire house, finishing with 66 percent of its battery left. It also did a great job cleaning a variety of floors and rooms that had various flooring types, such as some area carpets. Its obstacle detection was top-notch and it swiftly eluded fake dog socks, turds and cables.

It's more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, but it has superior suction, a built-in dust bin that automatically empties into its base, and also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after vacuuming, a feature that we've not seen on other robot automatic vacuum and mop/mop combos.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

With an elegant circular design that looks like a regular Roomba than the competition's boxes This robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most attractive designs in our tests. The latest model from iRobot is its most advanced and has advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can autonomously wash mop pads).

It's also the only robotic cleaner and mop vacuum/mop that scored the perfect 10/10 out of 10 in our evaluations. This is due to the combination of modern sensors, including a restructured lighting system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop mops.

The X40 as with other iRobot products, is easy to use. It comes with an easy mobile application interface and integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only issue is that it's an eerily noisy device which could be a problem if you run it in the morning before work, or at night when you attempt to sleep.

It's also somewhat expensive, although it's not as expensive as the Ecovacs Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are equally capable and better-looking. This is a two-in-one vacuum that is very efficient however it's more expensive and produce more noise.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop, with a variety of sophisticated features to help you forget about your chores. Like Ecovacs range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that can take the care of mopping and vacuuming, with a multifunction dock that automatically emptys the vacuum's dustbin, refills its water tank, washes and dries its mop pads.

The smart robot uses the combination of LIDAR and structured light to map out the floor plan and detect obstacles, making it more efficient than some of its premium rivals. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards, although this wasn't quite 100% foolproof during our tests and was occasionally confused by power cords or other obstructions.

Its vacuum has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to finish the job. It also has "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates how hard the vacuum works and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house depending on how dirty they are.

For larger homes it's worth looking for a model that has zone or spot cleaning modes that allow you to tell the robot to clean one particular area of your house by using the app or via voice commands. A stair mode can be beneficial if you have large furniture. Additionally, a recharge and resume function that lets your robot vacuum reviews vacuum pick up right where it left off is great for busy families.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is more intelligent than its price suggests. It is a great job cleaning, removing 55% of debris in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses with one pad, which uses a reciprocating motion that cleans better than most of the other robot mop cleaners we've tried. It's also self-sufficient with a fully-featured application, and a self emptying, washable base.

The well-designed iRobot application guides you through an initial mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you have marked on the map. It can be used to make cleaning schedules, set up a spot clean or to prioritize your most filthy rooms to improve performance. The app comes with a variety of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom mapping, and advanced cleaning robot mop and vacuum settings.

It can also reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It also has a strong 8,000 Pascal suction and combs with intelligent technology for hair of pets. You can also organize a spot-cleaner which will thoroughly clean the area.

robot-vacuum-mops-logo-text-black-png-original.jpgThe Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD offers a sleeker more affordable alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's more appealing, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras appear like cute eyes. It is excellent at vacuuming, but it is more likely to be caught in low thresholds. It is also noisier than other top robot vacuums we have test. It also has a less user-friendly app and a small base station that doesn't double as an emptying bin.
