Inline Lever/Lever

A lever/lever door handle is a modern handle that can be put in on new or replacement doors. This kind of door handle is available in a wide range of styles & finishes. A variety of manufacturers provide this handle including Avocet, ERA, Fullex, Hoppe, Mila, Millenco & Yale.

The uPVC/Composite door handles are made of robust materials and are ideal for multi point lock doors that require a heavy duty design. The handles are inline and work from the same spindle and screw fixings, so they can be easily fitted to doors made of uPVC/Composite, either new or old.

The sprung lever design allows the handle to be positioned and angled to ensure a comfortable experience and is suitable for all users. The handle has been tested to 200,000 cycles. This ensures that the quality of finish and performance over time. The sprung lever is also adjustable to fit a wide range of locks. This is particularly useful in doors that are narrower, where the cylinder is situated further back from the door. A lever that is shorter is an excellent option for doors where the latch can be opened by a thumb turn inside.

Lever Pad

A Lever Pad door handle made of upvc functions differently than lever handles that are found on the majority of doors. These handle types can either use a single spindle (inline) or independently from both sides using two offset spindles or inline (pad). They are typically used on UPVC double glazed doors. They are available in a variety of variations and finishes.

The handles are available in a variety of finishes, including White chrome, and Gold. The finish meets BS EN 1670:2007 Grade 5 and is also resistant to corrosion, which gives the handle a high level of durability and performance for its intended use.

All UPVC levers for handles come with a spindle, screws and can be mounted on a uPVC door. Euro Cylinder

Cylinder locks are typically found on uPVC doors, but can also be found on other types of door. The cylinder lock operates by using a key that unlocks the cylinder's casing. This exposes pins that can be aligned to those in the lock and allow them to rotate the revolving camera, thereby opening the door. Euro cylinders can be equipped with up to six pins, with both internal and external doors usually requiring different levels of security.

The selection of a cylinder is vital. It depends on the amount of use your doors and handles will receive. For instance, exterior doors require an extra secure cylinder, whilst internal doors can be secured using an ordinary cylinder. Additionally, certain cylinders are available with extra features which can enhance security even more, like anti-drill and anti-bump characteristics.

A euro cylinder should be properly measured to ensure it is the correct size for your door. The cylinder needs to be measured from the screw hole in the center to the ends of the cylinder. This includes the thumb turn, should there be one. If you are unable measure it using the lock in its position, you can remove it. It is important to avoid having a cylinder that extends beyond the handle or escutcheon. This could make it susceptible to lock snapping attacks.

The majority of modern cylinders have been made with anti-drill and bump resistance features included in their design. They are designed to decrease the chances of an attack by forcing the cylinder rotate in the opposite direction. This can help stop the attack and keep your doors safe.

Some cylinders are designed to withstand snapping. This is a growing method of attack on cylinders, where the break line inside the lock is smashed by a tool that is specially designed to break the front of the cylinder and allow the door to open. This is a lot faster and less difficult than gaining access through multipoint locks and leaves no evidence of a break-in which can hinder the insurance claim.

Spring Cassette

The spring cassette is positioned in the base of your door handle backplate, supplying a spring-loaded solution and returning your multipoint lock handles to their original position after usage. In the past, a lot of handles did not have a spring built into them, and as a result, they are more likely to slide or drop when the locking mechanism is disengaged. This simple component is the best way to address this issue. It also prevents your upvc door from becoming stuck in the closed or open position since they are difficult to close manually.

These spring cassettes were designed to be used with a sprung multipoint lock. They are not compatible with handles that are not sprung, and you will have to cut a hole in your backplate for them to fit. (Please see the image for a detailed diagram). These cassettes can be used as a replacement to broken or missing cassettes in the backplate of uPVC door handles. They are sold as a single unit. They come with a square cut out that accommodates an 8mm shaft.
