These hinges can be used with traditional side-hung frames made from aluminum or uPVC. The friction screw is used to adjust the resistance. This makes opening the window more simple and reduces the chance of a mistaken closing in strong winds. They have been cycle tested to over 30000 cycles and comply with BBA/Secured by Design and British Standards approved BS EN 13126-6:2008.

Be aware that the measurement is taken from the part that fixes to the frame not the sash, the actual hinge length could be shorter or longer based on the manufacture of your old windows. When deciding the width of the hinge, the majority of frames made of upvc can accommodate a stack height of 13mm however if your original window frame is 17mm, choose this option.
