Robots that clean and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning both dry and wet messes in one session and without the need to switch between devices. They also can save space compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will have impressive navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models that automatically empty their bin, refill their water tank, and wash their mopping pads using the dock that is specifically designed for them.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It has plenty to offer for its affordable price and is among the easiest robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start guide will have you up and running in no time. You'll have a an entire dust bag, water tank and a hard floor.

The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that mops up a storm and vacuums well too. The mops are spun at a high speed and utilize 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to remove dirt, pet hair and sticky dried spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a range of brushes and attachments and a user-friendly application that lets you select the kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.

For example, you can opt for the robot to clean up the kitchen and living rooms but take it easy in the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models cannot. The only problem is that the robot tends to hit walls and objects at a high speed. However looking at the history of cleaning on the app will reveal exactly what the robot has accomplished, where it's traveling, and what obstacles it has stumbled upon or avoided.

A large LCD screen on the docking station informs you when maintenance jobs must be completed including emptying the debris tray and rinsing its dirty water tank. It's also able to mix detergent automatically into the water tank with a 600ml bottle of Eufy's own solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long running time. The mop can operate for 184 mins in Quiet Mode and the vacuum can last 136 mins in normal mode, prior to needing recharging or returning to the base. You can view the complete cleaning details within the app, which is clearly laid out and easily understood, though we would have liked to be able to distinguish between a vacuum only or a vacuum/mop clean when examining a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's flagship robot mop and vacuum, is the most up-to-date version. The model this year has a double agitator built into its mopping pad. This improves the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an enhanced suction power which allows it to remove smaller hairs as well as other debris other robotic cleaner and mop cleaners may miss.

Like the other two Roborock models I've tested, this one has reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that help it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by adding a dual camera which can detect objects and determine whether they are a wall or another type of surface. It will then automatically alter its direction and clean them without missing a beat.

It's the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, but it's also loaded with features. Its sleek, angular design is striking, and it only has three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which restarts the cleaning process mop button, which doubles up as a child-lock and a home-button that can take the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid reveals the 350ml dust bin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank self-empties and the bin auto-refilling.

The only negative I found with this model is that the VibraRise mop pad mount isn't removable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if it's required) however, it's a hassle to take off the mount to wash it manually. I've noticed that any plush carpet the robot crosses will be in contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and that could cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a number clever features, including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can manage and set up these using the Roborock app which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also lets you to schedule cleanings, track battery life and component maintenance. You'll have to go through a few steps to enable voice control on this model. It's a shame considering how efficient it is otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

It can be controlled via the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure that voice-controlled operations are smooth and easy.

The app is intuitive and simple to use, and the X40's smart features are simple to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, look at floor plans and robots that vacuum and mop maps, and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and inform you when it's finished.

The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with numerous convenient features, making it a great option for busy families. Its docking station automatically empties the trash bin into a 3.2 L bin, cleans mop pads and refills them with clean water and cleaning solution. 4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra Best robot vacuum uk is one of the most expensive models available on the market. It has many features that make it stand out. The mops are equipped with a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. It makes use of two mops with high-speed motors to clean floors more thoroughly than the conventional method, and it has the highest suction power of 7,000Pa. This is significantly higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can clean pet hair and small dirt particles as well as picking up spills and wet spots.

It's a little heavier than some of the other two-in-one robots on this list - at around 4kg however it's not overly heavy, and is sturdy and well-built. The mopping system is also well designed, and the double rotating mop works well on hard floors or in corners. They can also extend up to 2mm baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature which is a nice touch.
