Path of Exile item upgrading Upgrades

item upgrade upgrades (Delphi.larsbo.org) are a common and essential way to boost the performance of numerous items in Path of Exile. They can be a great source of damage, more AD or even more attachments.

Often times however, upgraded Common and Magic gear is often surpassed by Rare-grade equipment due to their high requirements.

Armor

Armor upgrades are a kind of upgrade that can be used on weapons and armor items. They improve the stats of the item they are connected to. Upgrades to armor can be found in the world of the game and purchased from Blacksmiths on bonfires. They can also be salvaged using a specialist or higher salvage kit to recover upgrade components from other items.

The amount of damage an armored piece or weapon is able to absorb is dependent on the degree of upgrades. The ability to absorb damage of an item of armor will increase as it is upgraded to the highest upgrade level. However, it's important to be aware that this upgrade will increase its weight, which will cause it to weigh more than before.

There are several types of armor upgrades available in the game, and each one has distinct effects. Certain upgrades grant armor an extra number of health points while others make it stronger and lighter. The name of the armor upgrade will tell you the kind of upgrade the item level upgrade can be given, as illustrated below.

Some of the upgrades are also magic or a mix of technology and magic, which is indicated by an "Magic" or "Hybrid" entry in the table below. Certain upgrades also require fees for use. These are identified as "Charges" entries in the table. These charges are constantly updated or never expire, depending on the upgrade.

Iron Ore is the cheapest way to improve your armor. You can locate it by exploring and looting small chests. Titanium is more expensive, however, it is available in the smelters of Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, such as the Reforge or the Hot Potato Books can only be applied to high-level armor pieces. These upgrades can provide significant boost in stats, and are well worth the cost.

The player should be aware, however, that upgrading a piece up to the max upgrade level will boost its defense. However, it can also affect its agility and speed. It is not recommended to upgrade armor past +9. The defensive boost gained typically isn't worth the weight and power costs of the upgrades.

Weapons

Weapon upgrades allow players to increase the effectiveness of certain aspects of a weapon. Upgrades can improve the accuracy of a rifle, or the damage that shotgun shells cause. Certain weapons come with special upgrades to improve their inherent characteristics. Frictionless materials (improves stability, reduces the risk of the possibility of overheating), and Kinetic coils (increases the projectile's velocity for greater damage) are two examples.

The majority of upgrades to weapons require a whetblade. It's one of three Power Dices and a different amount of Minerals and Erons. These can be obtained by doing side quests, or taking out a certain number of monsters or bosses or from the Weapon Upgrade NPC in Central Flarine.

Upgrading a Weapon, Equipment Set piece or Whetblade requires visiting the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine and paying her an upgrade fee of a set number of Bars. The more bars required to complete an upgrade, the higher the level. The cost of upgrading will be lower if have more than one of the upgrade materials.

In Chapter 2: Season 5, the ways to upgrade your weapon and equipment sets changed a little. Prior to Chapter 2 Season 5, you could upgrade your weapon or equipment by paying a specific number of Bars. You could continue doing this until you reached a maximum upgrade level for the equipment or weapon, following which the upgrades would reset.

You can still do this, but the process is based on RNG and low on agency. You should consider buying equipment that has low upgrade levels but with high base scores and stat distributions. They will also have a chance at gaining you the most prestigious perks and blessings.

Most players will want to make the most of upgrades to weapons they most often use to allow them to progress quicker. In addition players, they should also consider upgrading the weapons favored by their teammates to make them more powerful and effective. Shepard, for example should upgrade his M92F so that he can unlock the Beretta M93R. This will make the weapon more useful when used in conjunction by biotic specialists like Grunt and Tali.

Jewels

Jewels can be used to improve the stats of a character or to provide additional effects in armor and weapons. They can be created using the process of jewelry crafting, in which you combine a gem and a number of specific ingredients at a table for jewelry. The higher the grade of the jewel the better the secondary effect. These reagents can be obtained around the world from Treasure Goblins, World Bosses and, sometimes, by salvaging Legendary equipment. You can also purchase them from The Jeweler for gold and a Scattered Prism.

The Jeweler can enhance the quality of a gem in stages ranging from Crude up to Royal. Depending on the tier of the jewel it can provide different stat boosts when inserted into gear, weapons and jewelry.

All kinds of jewels are crafted at the Jeweler however, there are some exceptions to this, such as the rare and legendary jewels that require you to be at a sufficient level to obtain these. Jewels can be replaced by another one without damaging the original. You can only replace the gem only once in a piece of equipment.

Using more jewels in the movement can make it feel more comfortable and is typically done to enhance the aesthetics of the movement. The jewels can also enhance performance and make a harder surface than metal so that repeated friction caused by pivots does not cause damage to them.

A Glyphmaster can offer glyphs to improve the appearance of your shields and weapons. These glyphs offer a small boost and can be freely swapped, but they are not guaranteed to be available as loot. Glyphs, like jewelry, can be upgraded at the Jeweler in exchange for gold and Scattered Crystals. Glyphs can also be removed, which returns them to the inventory. Other upgrade components, such as traits and aegis, cannot be swapped out, and can only be retrieved using an Upgrade Extractor or salvaging them with the Black Lion Salvage Kit or an Ascended Salvage Tool.

Trinkets

Trinkets are pieces of equipment that provide an array of tiny but valuable advantages to your hero. They can be obtained in the beginning areas as loot or personal story rewards from vendors, and through completing road interactions. They can be purchased from the Trading Post, or crafted by jewelers.

The first trinkets a player is able to unlock is the cloak, which gives an unimportant but beneficial boost to speed of movement and the ability to escape. After that, they can purchase amulets, rings and necklaces in a similar way to how a player acquires armor and weapons. Every piece of equipment has an upgrade slot that is either universal or jewel. Universal upgrades are smaller and are able to be used on any device. Jewels cannot be upgraded or replaced and only work with certain trinkets.

These trinkets can also grant buffs and skills that remain active even when the character is not fighting. This allows the hero to be more effective when not active, and can also help to compensate for the absence of a solid team or any slots in the talent tree which would normally be filled with the hero's best stats.

A good guideline for trinket upgrades is to prioritize BiS (Best-in-Slot) items that you won't be replacing soon, followed by items with desirable stats, but less important than the iLevel of the item to be upgraded. This is particularly true if an item has multiple stats that you'd like to upgrade, as it's usually better to upgrade a single crucial stat than two subpar ones.

Jungle players will often upgrade their yellow trinket to a red trinket at the start of the game. Top and mid players on the other hand will pick a pink or green ward, depending on the game's matchup. These choices will have a major impact on the hero's ability to control his map.

Apart from the items listed above, players can find other trinkets in the game in the form of trophies and awards. These can be obtained by completing certain milestones within the story. For instance, finishing the main quest of a chapter or beating the boss. You can check them out by clicking on the achievement in the reward section of the hero's menu.
