The Best Robot Hoover

robot-vacuum-mops-logo-text-black-png-original.jpgThe best robot hoover can clean and mop without requiring your attention. It will leave your floors spotless. Its low cost and top-of-the-line functions (such as a dirt detectors) are positives.

Make sure to check your robot's brushes regularly for tangled debris and hair. Wash them if needed. Certain models also automatically empty the dust bin on board and then deposit it in a larger bin at the base. This reduces the amount fine dust released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive sibling the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we've tested. They feature top-of-the-line motors that can pull up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Like other premium iRobot models (including the top-rated model) they utilize smart mapping technology to create detailed floor plans that avoid household obstacles such as cords and furniture legs. The robots also come with Carpet Boost, a feature that increases its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored very well in our tests of floors with no carpet and are especially adept at cleaning hair from dogs. However, they do have a few flaws however, which prevent them from being our top option. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is that its navigation system does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance. It's also prone to get stuck on shoes and socks and could not navigate densely packed rooms very well in our tests. It doesn't also come with a camera to look around corners.

However, it's a good choice, especially if you want to save money on a Roomba from iRobot and have a bare-floored home or office. Plus, it's very quiet and can work while you're at work, or school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming that is offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does come with a self-emptying dock, though. If you're in need of it mop, the mopping pad can be replaced with one that is wet in just a few minutes.

2. IRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities into an elegant, compact package. Its quick navigation and smart cleaning maps make it easy to clean and efficient in taking on larger particles, such as pet hair. It also comes with strong suction and self-emptying bin. It's the best robot automatic hoover for carpets, though it isn't as efficient as some of its competitors in deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mop utilizes sensors to avoid obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the patterns of your home over time and provide more efficient cleaning. You can alter its cleaning schedule and customize zones using the app that is well-designed. It comes with a battery life that is similar to other models.

You can tell the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and to extend them when in a carpeted room, which helps prevent cross-contamination. Its flex arm can also be utilized to reach under furniture that is low and along baseboards. However, it doesn't have the same washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ as well as the iRobot Combo j9+.

During tests during testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop in the market to clean an entire home, and it did so with the battery at 66 percent left. It did a good cleaning job on various flooring and rooms with different kinds of flooring, including some area rugs. Its obstacle detection was excellent, and it avoided fake dog turds and socks, shoes, and bundles of cables.

It's a bit more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, but it has superior suction, an onboard dustbin that automatically emptys into its base, and it supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can clean the floor even after it vacuums. This is something we haven't seen before on other robot vacuum/mop combination.

3. IRobot Roomba X40

With an elegant, circular design that looks more like a regular Roomba than the competition's compact models, this mop and robot vacuum is among the most attractive designs in our tests. The latest flagship model from iRobot is also among its most advanced. It features advanced features, like enhanced dirt detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads on its own).

It's the only robotic mop or vacuum to score a perfect 10 in our evaluations thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors, which include cameras, a structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mop mops.

Like other iRobot models, the X40 is easy to use, offering a simple mobile app interface as well as integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit as well as Google Assistant. The only drawback is that it's loud that could be problematic if you run it in the morning before work, or at night when you try to sleep.

It's also quite expensive but not as much as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally capable and better looking. This is a dual-purpose vacuum that's very capable however it's going to cost you more and make more noise.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop with a lot of advanced features that will let you get rid of your chores. Like Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that can take care of both mopping and vacuuming. It comes with a multifunction dock that automatically emptys the vacuum's trash bin, refills its water tank, cleans and dry its mop pads.

The smart robot makes use of a combination of LIDAR and structured light to create floor plans and spot obstacles, and navigates more effectively than its more expensive rivals. It also has a front mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards but this wasn't foolproof in our tests and could be confused with obstructions or power cords.

The vacuum has a suction maximum of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to complete the task. It also has "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates how hard the vacuum works and also adjusts the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house in accordance with the amount of dirt they tend to be.

If you have a larger home, it is worth selecting a robot that comes with zones or spot cleaning modes. This lets you inform the robot vacuum cleaners reviews of which area of your home must be cleaned using the app or voice control. A stairway mode is useful if you have a number of furniture. For busy families, a recharge feature and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum to resume where it left off can be extremely useful.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is a smarter cleaner than you might imagine from its price. It does a stellar job vacuuming, picking up 55% of debris in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with one pad and a reciprocating movement that is more efficient than most of the robot mop cleaners that we've tested. It's self-sufficient too, with a full-featured application and an auto-emptying washable base.

The well-designed iRobot app guides you through an initial mapping exercise that collects information about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you mark on the map. It can be used to make cleaning schedules, arrange a spot clean or to prioritize your most filthy rooms to improve performance. The app has a range of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom mapping and advanced cleaning settings.

Its shape is more rectangular than other robot vacuums, meaning it is able to reach corners and underneath furniture more easily. It also has strong 8,000 Pascal suction and combs with intelligent technology for hair of pets. You can also organize a spot-cleaner that thoroughly cleans a specific area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD offers a sleeker, cheaper alternative to iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras look like cute eyes. It is capable of vacuuming, but is more prone to be caught by low thresholds and is louder than the other top robot vacuums we've examined. It also has an app that is less intuitive and has a tiny base station that does not double as a bin for emptying.
