The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.

He reviews and tests cleaning equipment, with a focus on robot vacuums and mopping combos. Multitaskers are a great option for those who wish to take mopping off their to-do list. They are equipped with impressive mapping capabilities and obstacle avoidance, and some even wash and refill their own mopping pads to give themselves a hands-off clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

This is the model you should select if you're looking for an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It's smaller than other models on this list which makes it easier to maneuver in tight corners and under furniture. It has a 220 degree Lidar that, combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, provides some of my favorite navigation and object avoidance features I've seen in robot vacuums. It's powered by a 4600mAh battery which can last up to 170 minutes if mopping and sucking is set to standard mode. (It can be more efficient when using turbo). It can even return to its dock to recharge its battery mid-clean.

It's fast and does a fantastic job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums the carpeted areas extremely quickly, and the hardwood floors in the living room, and hallways in a single sweep. The motor's 8,000pa power allows it to clean dirt as well as pet hair and droppings effortlessly. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects rugs and the double side brush helps to remove debris from corners.

The mopping performance is less impressive, but not by much. The mop's rotating mechanism spins fast and uses 2.2lbs to clean dirt and stain. I've also noticed that the front arms protrude out a bit more than other robots, which is helpful to maneuver around tight corners and along baseboards. Those same front arms can be used to clean larger pieces of debris, such as broken toys or books.

Another great feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mops I've tried. It is quieter and doesn't create more noise when mopping or vacuuming. The only downside is that the S1 Pro must use a proprietary cleaning solution for mopping and is sold separately from the vacuum. It is simple to install, and it works well. However should you purchase this robot vacuum solely for mopping, you will need to pay attention to this.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuum with mop vacuums in its class. It is equipped with a broad array of features that make it a great choice for homeowners who want an extremely efficient, flexible and adaptable cleaning machine.

The device comes with a powerful cleaning system that incorporates LiDAR sensor technology and an RGB camera. This enables it to map out your home and also identify furniture and other obstacles. It can then use this information to clean effectively and efficiently. This leads to an efficient, consistent clean that's also fairly fast.

In terms of mopping, the Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can reach many different surface areas. They can reach corners and baseboards as well as other difficult-to-access spots. They also come with a stretchy side brush that can extend to reach the floor close to walls and other fixtures. The mop pads can also be washable and can be dried to remove odors and prevent buildup.

App-based customization is another notable feature. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the suction level and select either a back-and-forth or a random pattern. You can also adjust the number of passes it must make, which will affect the speed at which the device can move around your home. You can also choose to disable the side brush to avoid damaging rugs and carpets.

This device has a fairly high price tag but has a variety of advanced features. However, it's important to remember that it carries recurring costs, such as mopping equipment and maintenance. For example brushrolls need to be replaced every six to 12 months or after 300 hours. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hours, and mop pads must be changed every three month.

This robotic cleaner and mop vacuum cleaner has an excellent rating on Amazon and includes a broad variety of physical automation features. These include the power button that doubles as a general 'Clean button, as well as a 'Home button that will take it back to its base station after finishing its cleaning session. It also has a multifunctional dock that automatically empty the trash bin and refills its water tank to mop and washes and dry its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

If you're a professional with a lot of work or someone who just wants a cleaner home without spending a lot of time on chores The Shark Matrix Plus is a good option. Its powerful performance, smart navigation and long battery life make it easy to maintain a clean home with minimal effort.

The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is a 2-in-1 mop and vacuum. It is able to perform vacuuming as well as mopping. The robot has two modules: a combined dry bin and water reservoir and a separate mopping unit with a microfiber pad that snaps in and out of place. It's not the most modern thing to have separate modules for mopping and vacuuming but it does mean you don't have to fret about changing the bags for disposables or refilling the tank of water.

The Matrix Plus performed well at vacuuming and mopping. Its greatest feature was its accurate floorplan map, which it uses to create an outline for cleaning. This made it easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture rug, furniture and other obstacles. The app allows you to create 'No-Go Zones' and virtual barriers that prevent certain areas from being cleaned by mopping.

We also noticed that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well at picking up hair from pets. It was able capture many of the hair shed by our cats, and even made it into the corners and crevices of our stairs where other robots had struggled. It was relatively silent and also had a few nice jingles that indicated when it was about to start or finishing its work.

The app was too easy and you had to alter the modules every time you changed between mops and vacuuming. The app isn't able to store multiple maps, which can be a problem if you have a home that has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a excellent choice for those who want a smart device that can vacuum and mop.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive item in our review. However, it does have distinct features that are worth a look. The X1 Omni is most well-known for its massive dock that serves as an charging base for the robot, a cleaning sink and two 4-liter water tanks. It also houses a 2.5-liter dust bin as well as the 2.5 liter dust bin.

The base comes with a couple of buttons for control that let you manually start a cleaning task, recall the robot or use the dock's auto-emptying procedure. Press two buttons to turn off the child lock. This is a wonderful feature for parents who are concerned about their children messing around with the vacuum.

The X1 Omni like other robotic hoovers vacuums, uses its camera to detect obstacles and furniture that are in its path. It will avoid them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system can map your home 10 times faster than conventional laser detection systems and is four times more accurate at finding objects.

Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni will sometimes get so entangled with an obstruction, such as an electrical cord dangling across a rug that it becomes stuck and ceases to function until you remove it manually. Although this is not a common occurrence but it was a very frustrating experience when it happened and especially because the X1 Omni does not have a "stuck" status alert on its application.

Another possible issue is one of the biggest drawbacks is X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between vacuuming and mopping modes during the cleaning process. You'll have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't an issue except for the fact that the mopping pads haven't been cleaned and dried between use and can cause mildew or mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed the sleek modern, contemporary base and mopping pad. It's a huge departure from the utilitarian all-black bases of rivals such as Roborock or iRobot. It's also an excellent choice for an industry dominated by boxy units.robotic-vacuum-cleaner-cleaning-the-room-while-wom-2024-11-07-13-20-10-utc-min-jpg-original.jpg
