World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

The item upgrades upgrade lets players boost an item's gear rating up to 700 points and add a final bonus. Items can be upgraded if they're in your inventory and you decide to take them to the kiln.

Certain items can be upgraded to increase their stats (like perfect made breakpoint armour that can be rolled to use in melee PvP) while other items, such as weapons don't change much post upgrade and thus aren't worth upgrading.

Weapons

Weapons can be upgraded to improve their numeric stats like damage to attack, crit chance PvE and damage from PvP. Weapons come with a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. Many weapons also come with a fixed bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are equipped in a single unit. In certain instances, this bonus can add up to more than the amount of damage that a weapon is able to upgrade by itself.

The cost of upgrading a weapon is contingent on its rarity and level. For instance, an upgrade to a +2 weapon requires two regular Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a weapon will continue increase until it requires an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones, at which the amount will be reset to one.

The upgrade of weapons can also change their base stats. This is usually a positive aspect, but it may also have negative consequences. Upgrades can make things unusable, unless you are extremely lucky.

Armor items can also be upgraded to increase their effectiveness. For instance, if you have a helm or chest, it will boost the defense of its base, while a belt and gloves will increase their strength and dexterity. Armor has a rerolling feature for its Enhanced Defense percent. This means that it is able to reroll down to a lower value.

The upgrade template for a weapon shows the new stats that it will gain upon upgrading and their respective values. This means that an upgrade from an 8 attack-damage sword to an 11-attack-damage sword would result in a weapon gaining an attack damage of 3. The 3% difference does not mean that the weapon will hit three times less, since it is an absolute number.

Rerolling a weapon is also possible by pressing the green button in the item menu, using the arrows that are circling. This will roll the item upgrades and alter its stats but it won't reset the weapon's levels or connect to the status of your account.

Armor

Making a few improvements to your armor can make an enormous difference in your ability to survive. Certain sets can provide MASSIVE improvements in the resistance to curses, poisons and fire as well as magic. This can make it easier to get through difficult areas. In general, the more defense you have for your character, the greater health you can get from each point. Therefore, it is recommended to upgrade your armor.

To upgrade your armor, head to any of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four of them and each one requires you to complete a special side-quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. Once you've completed the main quest and the associated fountains, you'll be able to talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the menu for upgrading armor.

Each piece of armor can be upgraded up to three levels and the amount of material and Rupees required to complete each will vary. In general, you'll need at anything from three to five Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees for the initial upgrade, and anywhere between five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Horns for each subsequent upgrade. The Champion Leathers, as an example can be upgraded to a +5 defense rating, which allows you to keep up in frigid conditions with a lot of adversaries. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other is able to be upgraded to +20 defense, which means you can survive a raid with friends.

Note that armor can't be upgraded the same way as weapons, so you'll want to focus on enhancing it to increase physical strength if you're a Warrior or Spell Power if you're a Mage. It's also worth saving your armor upgrades for the armor you'll be wearing at the end of the game, like the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield, or the helmet you wear for the final boss fight, the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.

By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town, you can unlock perks for your armor. Generally speaking, you'll want to save these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to win the game such as the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer, but it can be useful to have a few upgrades to your chest armor and helmets to permit you to sneak past certain monsters.

Potions

Potions are bottled substances that, when consumed, give the player a temporary status effect. There are five types of potions, each with particular effects and durations. Some potions may be upgraded, enhancing the effectiveness of their effects. You can also enhance the effects of certain potions by adding redstone dust and glowstone dust.

Upgrades to potion cost a certain amount of XP. This can be earned by making them on a table or the chest of the Alchemist. The price of upgrades changes depending on what type of potion you'd like to upgrade, as well as on the item upgrades's Mark Level and Rarity.

To upgrade item a potion, click right on it in your inventory and select the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This will open a GUI which allows you to choose the potion that you would like to upgrade and the amount of experience they will give you when upgraded. Upgrades to potions can be made in batches of up to five at a time and the XP they provide will be added to your current XP count.

Once a potion is upgraded, it will not be degraded until you use it again or break the bottle it's stored in. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will also allow you to change the name of the potion.

There were some changes to potion mechanics in version 1.7.2. For instance, splash potions now have a duration of 0.08 seconds (this is not the same as the 22.5 seconds that are displayed on the item hover display). The table of potion can now be constructed using four Wood Planks and two Glass. This allows it to be utilized by players playing Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions aren't compatible with cauldrons like Java Edition. This is the same for the use of a potion in a cauldron that is full. This will deplete the potion and refill the bottle.

There are also simmering potions that are made using dragon breath and splash potions. Redstone is also added to potions that are lingering to increase their effect. The table of potion ingredients is now arranged more like the Java Edition, and new potions were introduced, including potion of leaping, decomposition potion, and turtle master potions.

Trinkets

A trinket is an ornamental item that is small, cheap or piece of jewelry. It could also be an ornament or object that serves a function but isn't important as a Thimble. In some cultures, a trinket is used to symbolize affection or friendship, particularly between family members.

In addition to armor, weapons and potions, players are able to upgrade their trinkets. Upgrades can be purchased by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Unlike other item upgrades, trinkets can be exchanged at will without losing their stats.

Upgrade vendors are located at the capitals of every zone and in some cases in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased with gold, tokens or fragments of a rare trinket.

Upgrades are a cost-effective alternative to purchasing a new trinket. It can be done by players for just 12 tokens. The new trinket will feature the same base ilvl as old one, and will come with an additional upgrade bonus of 1.

Trinkets can be upgraded when the old ones are no longer needed and allows players to increase their power and value over time. They can also be traded between players which makes them an attractive alternative to gold.

Players should upgrade their most important items first. This means that the top-in slot items for each class are first upgraded before their secondary gear and other equipment that they won't replace anytime soon (such as an earring or a cloak). It is also important to consider your class's preferred stats when deciding the items to upgrade. For example when Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for a tank it is recommended that they upgrade their helm, chest shoulders, belt, and helm.

When they are no longer useful trinkets are able to be upgraded to a greater level. The new trinket has an additional 1% bonus. Re-upgrading will destroy the trinket unless it is salvaged using a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets can be more expensive than other upgrades, but still less expensive than purchasing a new one.
