The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, as well as a selection of attachments and brushes and an intuitive app which lets you choose the kind of cleaning you'd like to do for each room.

The only drawback is that it tends to crash into objects and walls at full speed. The vacuum can last 136 mins in normal mode, before needing recharging or returning to the base. The app is simple to use and intuitive, allowing you to look at all the details of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's top-of-the-line robot vacuum and mop, is the most up-to-date version. Unlike last year's model this one has two agitators in its mopping pad, which significantly improves its carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has improved suction power, allowing it to pick up fine hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners could miss.

The Roborock model, just like the other two I tested is equipped with infrared and 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it get around obstacles like furniture, walls and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by having a dual camera that can recognize objects and determine whether they are a wall or another type of surface. It can then change its direction automatically and clean around them without missing a step.

This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed but it's also the most loaded with features. Its sleek, angular design is striking and comes with three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which restarts the cleaning process, a mop button that doubles as a child lock, and a home-button to send the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml dustbin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically emptys and the bin auto vacuum and mop-refills.

The only downside I've discovered with this model was that the VibraRise mop pad mount is not removable. While you can replace the mopping cloth (if necessary) however, it's a hassle to remove the mount to wash it manually. I've noticed that any plush carpet the robot crosses will come into contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and that can cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features, including support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app lets you manage and set up these advanced features. It also includes maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings, monitor battery life and component maintenance. You'll need to jump through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering how efficient it is otherwise.

Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, view floor plans and maps and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also track its progress and notify you when it's finished.

The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with numerous convenient features, making it an ideal choice for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the trash bin into a 3.2 L bin, washes mop pads and refills them with clean water and a cleaning solution. It will also tell you whether the mop pad is at its maximum capacity and alert you to the situation prior to it bursting.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's one of the most expensive models available however, it comes with a lot of extra features that set it apart. Smart DuoScrub, which is a new feature on its mop, utilizes two mop heads with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is much higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can vacuum up pet hair and small dirt particles in addition to removing spills and wet spots.

The mops are also cleaned and dried inside the base station after each use. This is beneficial because it prevents mould and unpleasant odours from accumulating in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. It's a system that we've yet to see on other robot vacuum and mop models and could be a great way of keeping your home hygienic for longer.

There are plenty of options, including the option to schedule cleanings and change preferences. They can be set through the app, or via direct buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and provides a variety of options for customising the cleaning routine. Additionally, there are numerous features that other robots do not include, for instance, the Clean Genius mode that automatically boosts suction power when it detects dust particles instead of relying on an individual setting.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most stylish robots we've seen on the market, with a white and metallic design that is elegant and stylish. It's heavier than some of the other two-in-one robots on this list - at around 4kg but it's not too heavy either, and it feels sturdy and well-built. Mopping is well-designed and the double-rotating mop is great for hard floors or in corners. They can even extend up to 2mm baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature which is a nice addition.
