The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. The mops spin at a high rate and employ 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to get rid of pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a variety of attachments and brushes, and a user-friendly application that lets you pick the type of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.

For instance, you can decide to let the robot take care of a thorough clean-up in the living and kitchen areas but go easy on the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models can't. The only problem is that the robot tends to hit walls and objects at full speed. However, a quick look at the history of cleaning on the app will tell you exactly what the robot has done, where it is going, and which obstacles he has run into or avoided.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's top robot vacuum cleaners uk mop and vacuum. This year's model has an agitator that doubles as its mopping pad. This enhances the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra also has improved suction power, allowing it to pull up small hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners might miss.

This Roborock model, just like the other two I tested it has infrared and a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it avoid obstacles such as furniture, walls, and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things a step further by adding a dual camera which can detect objects and determine whether they are an object that is a wall or a different surface. It then can alter its path automatically and clean them without missing a step.

It's the most expensive robot I've ever tested however it also comes with the most features. Its sleek, angular design is eye-catching and it has just three physical buttons which include the power button which also resumes cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock and a home button to send the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid can be opened to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml tank of water. The water tank automatically emptys and the bin auto-refills.

The only downside I've found with this model is that the VibraRise mop pad mount isn't removable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if it's required) but it's a challenge to remove the mount to wash it manually. I've observed that any soft carpet that the robot passes will be in contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, which can cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart capabilities that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can manage and set up these using the Roborock app that is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings, track battery life and component maintenance. However, you'll have to go through a few hoops in order to enable voice control with this model, which is a shame considering the quality of its performance.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a market leader with its innovative features, top suction power and cutting-edge mowing abilities. Its intelligent design allows you to personalize and efficiently clean while reducing time.

The X40 is the first robot vacuum cleaner that can deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which easily makes it one of the top alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clear up pet hair dust, crumbs and any other dry debris. It also comes with a top-quality mop that leaves floors spotlessly clean, even without a wet pad. The X40 is also extremely quiet in operation with only occasional bursts during mode changes or self-maintenance.

It can be controlled by the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is easy to use and understand, and the X40 has many smart features that are easy to configure. Users can program the X40 for cleaning at specific times. They can also adjust suction power, switch modes, look at floor plans and maps and control mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and notify you when it's finished.

The X40 is easy to maintain and has many convenient features which make it a good option for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin, and clean mop pads before refilling them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It can also detect whether the mop pad is at its capacity to the max and notify you of the situation before it spills.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available. It does have several characteristics that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, a new feature in its mops, uses two mop heads that are high-speed to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is much higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can clean pet hair and smaller dirt particles - as well as picking up spills and wet spots.

The mop mops are cleaned and dried at the base station every time they are used. This is an excellent feature since it prevents the build-up of odours and mould in storage, and it also makes mop systems more efficient. This is an option we haven't seen before on other robot vacuum with mop mop or vacuum models. It could be a great way to keep your home clean longer.
