Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

The stats of an item can be improved by upgrading it, also known as "upping". Each upgrade increment increases the stat linearly.

Players can recycle up to six items at a time in order to gain an indicator of the level of the item's upgraded components. The cost of recycling a piece of equipment increases depending on their rarity and level.

Upgrade components

In Guild Wars 2, an item upgrade is a way to increase the stats of your weapons and armor. This can be accomplished through a variety of methods through the use of upgrade components or by increasing the rarity of an item or its mark level. A lot of items can be reforged in order to increase their stats.

You can purchase upgradeable items throughout the game. They are available in all over the world, as well as rewards for missions. Players can also make them. The primary method to upgrade gear is through the use of upgrade components, which are components that can be slotted into equipment. The majority of equipment comes with slots that can be upgraded and some require a specific level of upgrade. Some upgrade components offer specific bonuses, while others offer a general bonus.

There are a variety of upgrade elements available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions, and jewels. The upper-right side of the screen shows the amount of upgrade components required to create an item. The cost of upgrading increases with the upgrade level and rarity, but can be reduced by many different ways, such as purchasing upgrades from a vendor or trading them to other players.

Most weapons can be improved with a prefix, like a rune or an insignia. Other weapons can be enhanced by adding the suffix. These upgrades include an adjective in the name of the item for example "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to convey information via visuals. They animate to capture the attention of the viewer and stimulate interest in the brain. The glyphs' animation mimics body language, making them even more effective in conveying messages across language barriers. Glyphs also improve the retention of a message by evoking an experience of familiarity in the brain.

Each glyph increases the value of a stat by a certain amount. This is displayed on the item's page when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This is the maximum value that a glyph can increase a stat's value by but not the amount it will actually increase the stat by. The actual value of the glyph is determined by the tier and the quality of the product you are creating it for.

The majority of upgrade components inserted into items can't be removed or replaced without dismantling them, with the exception of legendary upgrades and equipment. If you have a rune or glyph you do not want to use, but it hasn't been incorporated to the gear yet, you can move the item to a different piece by selecting the Upgrade Glyphs menu within the Glyphs Panel. This will create the new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.

You can take out a glyph by using a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. This will cause the item to be destroyed that it was installed in however, you can salvage the upgraded item with the glyph and its fragments, therefore, it shouldn't be considered a loss.

If you take an item off after putting a glyph on it, the shards of the glyph will vanish. You can also apply an inscription to your equipment to add a bonus. For instance the glyph Deferred Damage can store damage for the wearer and distribute it slowly instead of all at one time. This can be helpful for players who are taking lots of damage from enemies but don't want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens allow players to alter the affixes they use on their weapons and equipment, and they can be obtained in a variety of ways such as in mistery boxes, as a rare drop from skulled creatures, or by killing bosses. Each reroll token gives the player a brand new random affix that is usually better than the original one. Reroll tokens can be used to boost the weapon's stats to increase damage or bonuses.

Items that have been rerolled will not appear in the upgrade menu, however, they can still receive upgrades. These rerolled items can be recycled by pressing the "Upgrade Item" button that alters the layout of the item window and allows up to six items to be selected to recycle. Recycling an item adds a small amount of points to its level gauge. The amount is determined by the rarity of the item and also its level. Thus, items with higher levels are more valuable for recycling than items with lower levels.

Players can also use Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to reroll weapons to upgrade units. Rerolls are based on a % chance for a weapon's trait. If it rolls higher, the weapon is upgraded. If it rolls lower the weapon remains as is. Weapons can be rerolled up to three times.

Rerolls are a good option for upgrading an item, but players should be aware that it could reduce the overall ilvl the weapon based on the number of rerolls used in order to increase the weapon to its ultimate ilvl. This effect is most noticeable on rings and Diadems, since they have no other options to increase the ilvl.

Some players have complained that the reroll system is too expensive. It's better to allow players to pay for it with money or food items, which would allow players to make changes to their builds without having to spend too much time. The developers aren't planning to introduce paid rerolls at this stage in the game's development. They're planning to include the ability for players to alter their race in the near future.

Leveling

There are a variety of ways to increase the level of an upgrade for an item. The first way to level up an upgrade to an item is by increasing the upgrade amount. This increases the upgrade value for any stat. The alternative is to increase the effect of the upgrade, which increases damage or healing for a stat. Additionally, there is the ability to upgrade the base item to a higher upgrade type. The new item upgrades will retain its iLevel but have the upgraded effects of the upgraded item.

When you upgrade items it is essential to remember that upgrades are not guaranteed. In most cases, a better roll will be derived from glyphs, however there are also possibilities for higher or more special rolls. The item type will also determine the iLevel. If you upgrade a rare or exclusive item to a specific kind of item upgrader mod, it has a chance of receiving a higher level.

Upgrades to items can be costly especially if you're upgrading a piece of gear from the normal to legendary track. The cost of upgrading an item will be contingent on the iLevel it's built upon as well as the number of levels to upgrade. Additionally, certain upgrade tracks require crests to achieve the next upgrade level.
