Some of them have excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Others even wash and refill mopping pads for a hands-free cleaning.

The Eufy S1 Pro

This is the model you need to choose if you want a robot vacuum cleaner that also mop. It is smaller than other models and makes it easier to maneuver in tight corners or under furniture. It comes with a 220 degree Lidar which, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, offers one of my top navigation and avoidance capabilities I've seen in the form of a robotic vacuum. It's got a battery of 4600mAh that can last for up to 170 mins when mopping and sucking is set to standard mode. (It can run longer when it is set to turbo). It will even return to its dock to replenish its battery mid-clean.

It's fast and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms quickly, and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room, and hallways with just one motion. Its 8,000pa motor is able to remove dirt as well as pet hair and even droppings effortlessly. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it encounters rugs and the dual side brushes help draw away debris from corners.

The mopping performance, though still impressive, isn't as impressive. The mop's rotating mechanism spins fast and makes use of 2.2lbs to scrub dirt and stain. I've noticed that the front arm sticks out a little more than other robots. This is helpful in difficult corners or on baseboards. The front arms can also be used to scoop up larger debris like books and broken toys.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot vacuums best vacuum is the most expensive item in our review. However, it does have distinct features that make it worth considering. The X1 Omni is most notable for its huge dock that serves as an charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two water tanks that are 4 liters in size. It also houses a 2.5-liter dust bin as well as a 2.5 dust bin that is 2.5 liters.

The base has a few control buttons that allow you to manually start cleaning tasks, recall the robot or run the dock's automatic emptying procedure. Hold down two buttons to turn off the child lock. This is a great feature for parents worried about their kids messing around with the vacuum.

The X1 Omni, like other robotic vacuums uses its camera to detect obstacles and furniture that are in its path. It will stay clear of them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

Unfortunately, this means that the X1 Omni will occasionally get caught up in an obstruction, such as a power cord draped across a rug, that it gets stuck and ceases to function until you free it. While it was not common, it was a frustrating experience when it did happen and especially because the X1 Omni does not have a "stuck" status alert on its app.

Another issue that could be a problem is one of the biggest drawbacks is X1 Omni's inability to automatically change between vacuuming and mopping modes during cleaning. You'll need to manually swap between the two, which isn't an issue aside from the fact that the mopping pads aren't washed and dried between use, which can lead to mildew or mold.

On the positive side the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking best robot hoover thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who dreamed up its modern, sleek base and mopping pad. It's a major departure from the utilitarian, all-black bases that are used by rivals like Roborock and iRobot and a pleasing sight in a space which is dominated by clunky boxes and clunky models.
