This robot vacuum-mop is an excellent option for people who live in flats because it takes the trash away in its own bin and uses an incredibly small docking station. The app allows you to select different modes and monitor cleaning, plus the mopping function is impressive.

Its obstacle avoidance and mapping are impressive, while it mops very well, picking up pet hair, spillages and dirt. It also self-empties and cleans, and refills its tank.

Roomba Combination from iRobot

The iRobot Combo includes mopping in addition to the already impressive vacuuming capabilities of the robot. It's not quite able to compete with our reigning Editors' Choice, the Deebot X1 Omni, which is more efficient and has an app for mobile that is simpler to use, but it does make an excellent alternative. The Combo features most of the same features as the j7 Plus, including the latest onboard acoustic sensors that determine floor type and AI-powered navigation, however it isn't able to set suction power manually. It's also slightly less compact than the vac-only model and doesn't have a an auto-emptying dock.

The Combo is one of my top choices for most homes. Its elegant design is also one of the most attractive I've seen. The matte black finish is more sophisticated than the metallic or glossy finishes of many competitors. iRobot also adds some classier touches, such as the leather tab that opens the bin on board and a shelf to hold bags in the dock. The iRobot Combo makes it easy to create maps and set up Keep-Out Zones.

While Roborock is comparatively new to the robot vacuum and mop market but it's already earned a name for itself because of its innovative cleaning technologies. The vacuums are renowned for their suction power, while the brand's mopping systems include vibrating mops that help scrub floors to remove dirt. Furthermore, a range of scheduling and mapping options lets you adjust the bot's cleaning schedule for your home's specific needs.

Roborock's obstacle avoidance feature allows the robot to spot objects that are smaller than its own height. This is especially useful for Roborock's most popular models, like the Qrevo Master. It is the best of its kind when it comes to navigation, thanks to vSLAM and LiDAR. While it can't raise its mop on carpets and rugs as the award-winning Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra it's very good at both cleaning hard floors as well as tackling mopping with a stunning speed. It has a self emptying bin, a superior level of suction, a variety of mopping options, and a top-quality application that runs on iOS and Android.

It's a bit smaller than many of the competition and its main brush is shorter than the majority, but it managed to make short work of our test room easily. The brush that rotates on the side that is used for edges is a nice touch and, while it didn't lift dirt off our carpets and was not as effective as some of the competitors, it did a very good job overall.
