Like other premium iRobots (including the most powerful model) they employ intelligent mapping to design precise floorplans that avoid obstacles such as cords and furniture leg. They also come with carpet boost which boosts the robot's power when it sees the presence of dirt on the carpet in order to get it clean quickly.

Both the Q5 and the Q7 Max Series get very excellent scores in our floor tests that test for bare floors They're also particularly adept at cleaning pet hair. They do have some flaws however, which hinder them from being our top choice. One of the Q5's shortcomings is its navigation system doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance. It's also prone to become stuck on socks and shoes and could not navigate densely packed rooms very efficiently during our tests. It doesn't also have a camera that can see around corners.

It's still a good deal particularly if your home or office has a lot of unfinished floors and you're looking to save some money. It's also quiet and can be used while you are at work or at school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. And it's less effective at mopping, using disposable wet wipes that don't stay on well and aren't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does have a self-emptying dock, though. If you need to, the mopping pad can be swapped for one that is wet in just a few just a few seconds.

2. IRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact sleek and stylish vacuum cleaner that can also mop floors. Its quick navigation and smart cleaning robot mop and vacuum maps make it quick to clean and effective at taking on larger particles, such as pet hair. It also has strong suction and an automatic bin for emptying. It's the best robot hoover for carpets, though it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.

This highly efficient combination vacuum and mop uses advanced sensor technology to avoid obstacles and pet waste, and it also learns your home's layout over time to provide more efficient cleaning. You can alter its cleaning schedule and set up zones through the well-designed app. It has a battery life that is comparable to other models.

If the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted space, you can tell it to remove and extend its mop. This will help prevent cross-contamination. Its flex arm is ideal to get under furniture with low levels and along baseboards. It's not as effective on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

In tests during testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop in the market to clean an entire home, and it did so with 66 percent of its battery left. It did a good cleaning job on a variety of floors and rooms with different flooring types, including some area rugs. Its obstacle detection was top-of-the-line and it swiftly eluded fake dog turds, socks, shoes, and bundles of cables.

It's a bit more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but offers superior suction and an onboard bin that is automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can clean the floor even after it has vacuumed. This is something we haven't seen on other robotic vacuum/mop combos.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

With an elegant circular design that looks more like a regular Roomba rather than the boxes this mop and robot vacuums with mop vacuum is one of the most appealing looking in our reviews. The latest model from iRobot happens to be its smartest and has advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can autonomously wash mop pads).

It's the only robotic mop or vacuum that scored an exemplary 10/10 in our testing thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors, including a camera, structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop mops.

The X40 as with other iRobot products, is simple to use. It has an intuitive mobile app interface that integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only real drawback is that it's still quite loud, which can be a problem if you run it in the morning before work, or at night when you attempt to sleep.

It's also quite expensive, although it's not as expensive as Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra Both of which are equally powerful and better-looking. If you're willing to live with a little more noise and some extra cost it's a efficient two-in-one device that should delight most.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end robot vacuum and mop. It has a range of advanced features that help you forget your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning device, similar to Ecovacs' top-of-the-range X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It comes with a multi-function dock that will automatically empty the vacuum's bin and refills the water tank, and cleans and dries the mop pads.

The smart robot makes use of an array of LIDAR and structured light to map out the floor plan and detect obstacles, making it more efficient than some of its premium rivals. It also has a camera mounted on the front to detect hazards in real-time but this was not 100% foolproof during our tests and was occasionally confused by power cords or other obstructions.

The vacuum has a suction maximum of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to complete the task. It also has an attribute called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas in the house depending on how dirty those areas tend to be.

If you have a larger home, you should consider selecting a model with a zones or spot cleaning modes. This lets you inform the robot of which area of your house needs to be cleaned with the help of an app or voice command. A stairway mode is useful if you have a large furniture. For families with busy schedules recharge functions and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum to resume where it left off can be extremely useful.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is a smarter cleaner than you might expect from its price tag. It is a good vacuum cleaner, picking up 55% debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with one pad that has a reciprocating motion that is cleaner than the other mop cleaners for robots we've tried. And it's highly self-sufficient with a full-featured app and an auto-emptying washable base.

The well-designed iRobot application guides you through an initial mapping session that collects data about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you have marked on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules, or to organize an automatic spot-clean. You can also use it to prioritize the most soiled areas for greater efficiency. The app also provides access to a variety of features like seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.

It also has the ability to reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It also has strong suction of 8,000 Pascal suction and combs that are intelligent for pet hair. You can also organize a spot-cleaner that will thoroughly clean the area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and less expensive alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras appear like cute eyes. It's good at vacuuming, but it is more susceptible to get caught on low thresholds and is louder than the other top robotic vacuums we've tested. It also has a less intuitive app and a small base station that isn't able to double as an emptying bin.
