The best robot hoover can clean and mop without requiring your attention, and leaves your floors spotless. Its low cost and top-of-the-line functions (such as dirt detector) are a plus.

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive sibling the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we have examined. They are equipped with top-of-the-line motors which can pull up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Like other top iRobot models (including the top pick) they utilize smart mapping technology to create precise floor plans and eliminate household obstacles such as cords and furniture legs. They also come with carpet boost that boosts the robot's performance when it spots a lot of dirt on the carpet in order to get it clean quickly.

Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very excellent scores in our bare floor tests, and they're particularly adept in removing pet hair. There are some issues however, which hinder them from being our top choice. For one, the Q5's navigation doesn't feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology and is therefore prone to become entangled in socks and shoes and couldn't navigate rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. It also doesn't have cameras that let it see the corners of an area.

Still, it's very good, especially if you want to save money on an Roomba from iRobot and have a bare-floored home or office. It's also extremely quiet and works while you are at work or school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming feature that's offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes that don't stick very well and cannot handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does come with an auto-emptying dock, however. If you need to, the mopping pad can be changed for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of minutes.

2. IRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities into a compact, sleek package. Its nimble navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it easy to clean and efficient at dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also features a powerful suction and a self-emptying bin. It's the most efficient robot hoover for carpets, although it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.

This highly efficient mop and vacuum combo uses advanced sensor technology to stay clear of obstacles and pet waste, and it will learn the layout of your home over time to ensure more efficient cleaning. You can modify its cleaning schedule and customize zones using the app that is well-designed. It has a battery life that is comparable to other models.

It is possible to instruct the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and to extend them when in a room with carpet, which helps prevent cross-contamination. Its flex arm is perfect for getting under low-lying furniture and along baseboards. It's not as efficient on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During testing during testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop that could complete the entire house with only 66 percent of its battery left. It also did a great job of cleaning a mix of floors and rooms that had mixed flooring types, including some area rug. Its obstacle detection was top-of-the-line and it swiftly eluded fake dog socks, turds and cables.

It's a bit more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but has superior suction and an onboard bin that is automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can clean the floor even after it vacuums. This is a feature we haven't seen in other robotic vacuum/mop combos.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

This robot vacuum and mop combination is sleek and has a circular design that looks more like the regular Roomba model than the bulky models of the competition. It is one of our most appealing looking robot vacuums. The latest flagship model from iRobot is also its smartest. It has advanced features such as Enhanced Dirt Detection as well as future compatibility (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads in a self-cleaning manner).

It's the only robotic vacuum/mop that scored a perfect 10 in our evaluations thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors, which include cameras, a structured lighting system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mops.

The X40 as with other iRobot products, is easy to operate. It has an easy mobile application interface, and it integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that the X40 still a loud unit. This can be a concern in the mornings before work or at night when you're trying to fall asleep.

It's also somewhat expensive, although it's not as expensive as the Ecovacs Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are similarly capable and more attractive. If you're willing to put up with a bit more noise and some extra cost, this is a very efficient two-in-one device that should delight most.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the best automatic vacuum and mop robot mop and vacuum. It has a range of advanced features that help you forget your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning machine, similar to Ecovacs top-of-the-line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It comes with a multi-function dock that will automatically emptys the vacuum's bin and fills up the water tank, as well as washes and drys mop pads.

The smart robot makes use of LIDAR and structured lighting to map out floorplans and identify obstacles. It is more efficient in its navigation than its premium competitors. iRobot RX3

The RX3 is more advanced than its price suggests. It has a great vacuuming performance, picking up 55% debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses using one pad and a reciprocating movement that is more efficient than most of the mop cleaners with robots that vacuum and mop that we've examined. It's also extremely self-sufficient, with a fully-featured application, and a self emptying, washable base.

The iRobot app is designed to help you navigate an exercise in mapping which collects information about your floorplan, as well as any "no go" areas that you have marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules or create an automatic spot-clean. You can also use it to prioritize your dirtiest areas to improve performance. The app has a range of features, such as seasonal suggestions, customized mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

It also has the ability to reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It features an impressive 8,000 Pascal suction and clever combs for removing pet hair. And you can create a spot-clean that scours a specific area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and less expensive alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It is more appealing in its design, similar to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are shaped like cute little eyes. It is capable of vacuuming, but it is more susceptible to be caught by low thresholds and is a bit noisier than the other top robot vacuums we've tried. It also has a less user-friendly app and a small base station that isn't able to double as an emptying bin.
