World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. They also boost extra bonuses such as PvE damage and crit chance.

For example an item with the upgrade template ending in % will take on an attack damage of 3% each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

Item upgrading costs crests and the current level of the item level upgrade. The cost increases as the level of the item increases.

Components

Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, armor, and weapons to provide them with a boost in stats or to add an additional effect. They can be obtained through making crafts, buying from vendors or trading with other players, or looting. Some upgrades have special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be placed in equipment that has a slot for them. The item must be at least upgraded to the blue level in order for the component to be inserted. Upgrade components, unlike other mods can only be applied only once. They cannot be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and Enrichments are a type of upgrade component that can be used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and ascending equipment, as in some items that aren't ascended. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging gear from the ascended, or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade may have a prefix or suffix changing the name of the equipment to which it is applied (for examplefor example "Canthan Armor Insignia is changed to Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades can increase the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, which lets players create stronger versions with less Upgrade crystals than they require to reach the same level using standard methods.

A 'boost' upgrade can change the attack or defence attributes of the weapon or armor. These upgrades can be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed mechanic. They can be dropped by enemies while upgrading other gear, or by purchasing them from the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals each.

The player can have a maximum of five boost upgrades at one time; each upgrade increases the probability that a higher-level version of the item will drop at the time of the next reset. This gives players a reason to upgrade their gear, even when they're not sure how much it will be improved after the reset.

If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process may be costly, and there is a high possibility that the item will be obsolete or even break when it fails; a unsuccessful upgrade could ruin the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to minimize or eliminate the possibility of failure. Some upgrades also give an additional bonus when they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade elements which can be put in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs boost the power of all nodes within the area around them and include pre-existing affixes to equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in various ways, and we suggest upgrading them to 15 levels as soon as you can.

In the final game you'll find that the best way to improve your gear is to place Glyphs. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and offer an enormous boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes faster.

Glyphs, the sole upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and then replaced again are the most commonly used. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and re-placed by using a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it in your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph of the same rank or higher rank, which will boost the overall value of the glyph.

You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of a Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain unlimited-use gathering tools and also through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt has the possibility of dropping one of the various Glyphs and there are some rare Glyphs that can be found as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

After you have acquired the desired Glyphs you will need them to be placed on your equipment. Each Glyph will unlock a unique bonus that can boost the stats of a specific set of nodes in the vicinity of the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph it could be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Glyphs will increase the number of nodes connected to them, so it is Best item upgrade to put Glyphs in key places on the Graph. This will increase the impact. For example that a Druid should aim to place their Glyphs close to their primary damage points, however, you may also want to think about placing them near crucial damage nodes, too.

Leveling

The item upgrade system allows players to boost the power of certain items by inserting upgraded components. This is known as "upping". Each upgradeable item has an amount that determines the final stats. Upgraded items can be leveled until they reach a maximum level of ilvl 385. Each item level requires a different amount of components to reach and the cost of upgrading increase as the item gets advanced in level.

Certain upgrades require a certain ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or bought from NPCs. Each completed Upgrade Recipe yields some Technology Points. These points can be used for upgrading an item. Once enough points are earned, you will be able to claim your upgrade and receive its additional bonuses.

When an individual player upgrades a piece of equipment the original item will be replaced by a new item. The same armor will receive the form of a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will have a unique bonus. This could be a drawback, as it can make the item more expensive if you don't require it.

Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled, provided that the player has enough reroll tokens to be able to do this. The item level upgrade will be replaced with a brand new one that has a base of level 1 and totally different bonuses. This is useful for certain items, but it shouldn't be done regularly, as it could waste a lot of resources.

Certain upgrades can be rerolled many times, increasing their value and allows the player to modify their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, since it grants a buff if the player continuously enters or exits water. This can be upgraded several times, each time increasing the maximum roll by an increment of 10. This item is extremely valuable in PvP as a perfectly rolled version of it can be worth between 20 and 50 times its value without being upgraded.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to increase the level of their equippable equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets above ilvl 385--by providing the appropriate items and currency to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces improve the strength of their base defense, while upgrades to weapon items increase the damage they deal as well as their strength and dexterity.

All items are upgradeable up to five times except for hero equipment, which can be upgraded eight times. Each time you upgrade an object, it is at risk of failing. The failure rate increases when you exceed the maximum number. Failures will result in the item reverting to its original state, requiring the player to pay more for materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the maximum number of upgrades.

If an item fails to upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it gained, such as chances to be crit, attack damage, or additional effects (such as increased heal over time or the speed of reloading). The player is able to use their weapon or armor after the failure.

Whenever an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied in order from the lowest to the highest. This means that, if a weapon gains an increase in crit chance it will be applied before any increase in attack damage. A new attribute called Slots is now added to the item's definition and the value is calculated each time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is based on the rarity rating as well as the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equivalent to its base value. For example an item that is commonplace could have five upgrades for a price of. 25600 Technology Points, 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items have lower costs per upgrade.

Premium items have different requirements for upgrading as compared to standard equipment, for instance, they may require fewer sowels, but they will require more minerals and erons. The player will still need to carry each piece of gear they wish to upgrade to NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each equipment upgrade will require different amounts of upgrade ingredients in addition to the cost mentioned above.
