World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can increase the value of weapons, armors and rings. They also increase bonuses, such as PvE damage and crit chance.

For instance, a weapon with the upgrade template that is ending in % will gain 3% attack damage every time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).

Item upgrading costs crests and the current level of the item. The cost rises with item's level.

Components

Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armor and trinkets in order to give them a boost in stats or add a bonus effect. They can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from vendors trading or looting. Some upgrades have special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components are only available to equipment that has a slot. The item must be upgraded to blue before the component can be used. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used once and cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are type of upgrade component used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascending equipment, as as some non-ascended items. Enrichments and Infusions can be obtained by salvaging equipment that is ascended or completing a mission in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

A suffix or prefix can be added to an upgrade, thereby changing the name of the item it's used on (for example 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' becomes Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost an item's Mark Level, or Rarity, allowing players to make stronger versions of the equipment with less Upgrade Crystals than is required to achieve the same level of upgrade through normal methods.

A 'boost' upgrade can change the attack or defense attributes of the weapon or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist the upgrades can be created at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades can be purchased by purchasing them in the cash shop or obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other gear.

The player is able to have the maximum of five boost upgrades at one time; each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher-tier version of the item Upgrader mod will appear in the next reset. This gives players a reason to upgrade their gear even in the event that they don't know what will be improved after an update.

Whether a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process may be costly, and there is a substantial possibility that the item will be obsolete or even break if it fails. A failed upgrade will ruin Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to decrease or eliminate the possibility of failure. Some upgrades also give an additional bonus when reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade elements that can be placed in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs can boost the performance of nodes within a radius, which includes any pre-existing attaches. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways. We suggest upgrading them as soon as possible up to 15 levels.

You'll often see in the endgame that putting Glyphs is a great method to upgrade your gear. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and provide a large boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to climb higher nodes more quickly.

The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced, however, Glyphs are only the one upgrade component that can be removed and put back in place without restrictions. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and re-placed with the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

Each Glyph has a certain range of values can enhance a stat by. The value is displayed when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can choose to replace it with a different Glyph of the same rank, or a higher rank, which will increase the value of the Glyph.

Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of a Gem Store bundle or purchase the glyphs with certain tools that allow unlimited use and also during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt can drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs that you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

When you have the desired Glyphs, you will have to put them on your equipment. Each Glyph will grant a distinct bonus that can boost a particular set of stat nodes that are within a radius of the Glyph. Based on the Glyph, this will either be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

The use of the Glyph will boost all nodes connected to it, so it is recommended to position your Glyphs near the most important nodes of the Graph to maximize the impact. For example, a Druid should try to place their Glyphs close to their primary damage points, however, you may also want to think about placing them near crucial damage nodes as well.

Leveling

The upgrade system for items lets players increase the effectiveness of specific items by putting upgraded components in them. This is known as "upping". Each upgradeable item is assigned a level which determines the final statistics. Upgraded items are able to be leveled until they reach a maximum level of 385 ilvl. Each item level requires different components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.

Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or purchased from some NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed will result in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to leveling up an item. When enough points have been earned you'll be able to claim the upgrade and also receive the bonuses.

When an item upgrade is upgraded by a player it is replaced with a new item of the same kind. This means that the same armor piece will get a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item comes with its own set of bonuses. This can be a downside in that the item could increase in price even if you don't require it.

If the player has enough tokens they can reroll item upgrades. The item will be replaced by an entirely new item that has a base of level 1 and totally different bonuses. This is a good idea however it should not be repeated often since it could waste resources.

Certain upgrades can be rerolled multiple times, increasing their value and allowing the player to customize their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides a buff if the player is repeatedly in or exits the water. This item can be upgraded multiple times by increasing the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item is very valuable in PvP. A perfectly rolled version can be worth as much as 50x the value of its unupgraded counterpart.

Requirements

The upgrade of items allows players to upgrade the level of their available equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets above ilvl 385--by providing the appropriate items and currency to an NPC that upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces also boost the defense of the base set and upgrades to weapon items increase the damage they deal as well as the required strength and dexterity.

Each item level upgrade can be upgraded a maximum of five times, except for hero gear that can have eight upgrades. Every each time you upgrade an item it is given a chance to fail--the failure rate increases the more you go over the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures can cause the item to return to its initial state, which requires the player to purchase more items than if they stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.

If an item is not upgraded the experience bar on its growth bar will be reset to zero. In addition the item will be deducted any bonuses it gained such as crit chance and attack damage, as well as any additional effects associated with the effect (for instance, an increase in heal over time or speed of reload). However, the player can still continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.

When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. This means that the weapon that is upgraded increases its crit chance that it will be applied before any damage from attacks increases. Slots is a brand-new attribute that was added to item upgrader kit definitions. The value is calculated every time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is based on the rarity rating and number of upgrade slots. The cost for upgrading non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For example, a common equipment item could have five upgrades at a cost of 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero grade items will come with an incredibly lower cost for each upgrade.

Premium items have different requirements for upgrading as compared to standard equipment, for instance, they might require fewer sowels, but more minerals and erons. However, players will have to visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. Each equipment upgrade requires different amounts of the ingredients needed to upgrade, in addition to the costs listed above.
